Official Bio:
Abby J. Reed is the author of the STARS FALL CIRCLE and SPOTLIGHT series and the memoir THE COLOR OF PAIN. She has a degree in English Writing and is drawn to characters with physical limitations due to her own neurological disorder called Chronic Migraine. Abby lives in Colorado with her family and two fluffy pups. If her hands aren’t on the keyboard, they are stained purple and blue with paint.

Not-so-official Bio:

If I could buy you a cup of something warm while we chat over the cliched peaceful lake with snow-capped mountains hovering in the background, I would.

But since I can’t . . .

I have a degree in English Writing and a grad certificate in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. I have a neurological disorder called Chronic Migraine. I’ve had migraine since pretty much birth, but have been chronic/status for over ten years. This means I’ve basically been living with a 24/7 migraine for over fifteen years and makes me a Pro Migraineur. When jogging the creative juices and avoiding migraines, I’ll paint. You can find some prints of my work on Society 6.

I love stories in all shape and form. Whether TV, books, the stage, audio and more, I can’t get enough. I’m drawn to characters with disabilities or those who have to find alternative solutions to reach their goals. I love setting and will spend hours combing through photos and art to find that inspiration nugget. I love morally gray characters, third options, the dirt and grit of life. I love fantastical elements and gut-wrenching laughter (which you’ll find more of in my younger-aged fiction). I love companions, from pet cleaning bots to baby manticores. I love the moment when a character is beyond depleted and chooses to get up anyway.

I’m from the west coast; my husband is from the east coast. We split the difference and live in Colorado. We’ve had the rings on our fingers for twelve years and have two cute little gremlins, one in heaven and one on earth.

We have two spoiled dogs that are pretty much my children. (AKA: I take too many pics of them and buy them too many toys).

This is Athena. She’s a goldendoodle and knows what she wants

Apollo is an Irishdoodle (so, half Irish Setter) and is 65 lbs of cuddles.
