Paintings of late

Hello all! I’ve had a run of bad migraines lately, so I’ve been holed up in my art loft to paint in between ice packs and some great Middle Grade novels on audio. This has been my view:

And I just caught the booger butt trying to eat molding paste off of my triptych canvases.

Anyway, I might share what I’d been working on of late.

This one is watercolor and ink on yupo. I listened to Lauren DeStefano’s The Curious Tale of the In-Between (which is bloody fantastic and perfect for a shivery October read):

The lighting is bad, so forgive me. All the shiny is gold leaf. In college I had the chance to study overseas in Israel. We climbed to the top of the Mount of Olives and watched the sun rise over Jerusalem. The sight was one of the most stunning views I’d ever seen. I’d been waiting to try painting this for years. I might try painting it again, but it was fun to try 🙂JerusalemThis is an acrylic piece (quadric? quadricle? who knows.) I did it for a friend. Fastest turn around ever. We had less than a day! Staceys_treesSo yeah! that’s what I’ve been doing lately 🙂 Along with research for my new novel when I’m feeling good.

Hope you have a great week!
