Hello blog of mine! Itβs my first post for the new decade, so, like everybody…
Inspiration for NaNo from Margaret Atwood
You are a week and a half into NaNoWriMo! Congratulations π
Have you been able to keep up with your goals? I got sick again last week and then traveled to a bridal shower, leaving me with a belly full of polka-dotted cake, migraine medication, and fancy-pantsy iced tea . . . and some very unaccomplished goals.

But November isn’t gone yet! I can still make it!!
I really liked this Margaret Atwood quote because, although I’m sure she intended “perfection” to reference perfection in her work, I took it to mean perfection in life circumstances. Since my health is a huge juggling-while-balancing-on-a-rolling-beer-barrel act, I rarely feel “perfect” enough to write.
But if I wait until I feel perfect before I sit down to write–or edit, in this NaNo’s case–I will never finish a book.
This past week, as I watched those new Daylight Savings hours tick by, I was reminded the only way I could accomplish my NaNo goals is to continue waddling. I may be moving closer to super-sonic-snail speed rather than sprinting, but at least I’m moving and not waiting for perfect life circumstances.
And now I’m two steps closer to finishing π
I love the picture background for the quote! (And the quote itself!)
Thanks Jill! My brother actually took that photo–he was playing around with slow exposure and light sticks and had a whole series of cool looking shots. I managed to finagle some out of him π
